No final do ano de 1973 com a dissolução definitiva do Free, Paul Rodgers, embora tivesse recebido um convite tentador para substituir Ian Gillan no Deep Purple, resolve montar uma nova banda, juntamente com outro membro do Free, o baterista Simon Kirke.

Convidam o guitarrista do Mott The Hoople, Mick Ralphs, que aceita de imediato, pois estava insatisfeito com a liderança de Ian Hunter imposta por David Bowie.

No baixo chamam Raymond "Boz" Burrel, ex-Centipede e ex-King Crimson.

O Sum 41 se formou em 1996, em Ajax, Ontario, Canadá, pelos adolescentes Deryck Whibley e Steve Jocz.

Cone McCaslin foi recrutado somente em 1999, depois da banda ter tido vários baixistas. O grupo apostava numa mistura bem humorada de pop, punk e hip hop.

O nome da banda, Sum 41, é uma abreviação da expressão: "41 days into the Summer", ou seja, 41 dias de verão. Mas nem mesmo os componentes sabem o porquê da escolha.

Talvez porque o nome soa bem e é original.


Depois de criarem uma fita com algumas travessuras da banda (incluindo um roubo de pizzas com armas d'água), e enviá-la para várias gravadoras, em 2000 o Sum 41 assinou um contrato com a Island Records e no mesmo ano lançou o seu primeiro álbum: Half Hour of Power.

Em Maio de 2006, o integrante Dave Baksh (vulgo Dave Brownsound), saiu da banda, para trabalhar numa outra, a Brown Brigade.

C.E.D. was started by the Fortuny brothers in 1974. Nowadays it is the most legendary group in Catalonia.


The founders, Esteve, Joan and Josep, successfully introduced into the Iberian rock scene the melodies and sounds born from the Mediterranean and Catalan folklore, including, in their own special way a soprano sax which calls to mind the Catalan “tenora”, to the typical rock instruments. After more 30 years in the profession, this unique, eclectic band has maintained the same spirit that characterises its origins.


Dharma’s music reaps from Catalan tradition stepping forward to modernity, keeping their original spirit untouched. Placing ouchthonous Catalan instruments in a new concept.
The band ingeniously contrast Mediterraneanethnic roots with universalism and jazz/rock. A fusion of very diverse musical influences, that creates a very eclectic and unique universe.
Their music, a symbol of an assertion of their own cultural identity along with certain universal values, carries its message beyond the borders of Catalonia.
Although, diverging from the traditional folk music approach, the spirit of the original ethnic music is greatly valued and respectfully preserved.
Their shows have an unmistakable Mediterranean flavour with moments of ingenuous and exciting primitivism, an enlivening impulse that gets the audience jumping and dancing, and then is when the show becomes a fiesta.

Banda pioneira surgida nos anos 60, com músicos provenientes de importantes bandas, como The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield e The Hollies.

A principal característica está nas harmonizações vocais, sempre com tres vozes.

A banda se apresentou em Woodstock em 1969, e gravou a música composta por Joni Mitchell com o nome do evento, tendo então sua imagem fortemente associada a ele.

Em diversas oportunidades gravaram com a presença de Neil Young.

São também conhecidos pelas iniciais, CSN, ou CSN&Y.

Seu nome completo é Stephen Demetre Georgiou.

Seu pai é de origem grego-cipriota e sua mãe, de origem sueca.

Vendeu 40 milhões de álbuns, principalmente entre as décadas 1960 e 1970.

Em 1971, escreveu a trilha sonora do filme Harold and Maude (no Brasil: "Ensina-me a Viver").

Entre suas canções mais populares estão "Morning Has Broken", "Peace Train", "Moonshadow", "Wild World", "Matthew and Son" e "Oh Very Young".

Saga's first major-label release was also the band's commercial breakthrough; the single "On the Loose" was not only a radio hit, but one of the first videos to be featured on the fledgling MTV network.

Fortunately, the rest of the album holds up nearly as well as that fine single; fleshing out the songs' arrangements with lots of interesting instrumental detail, the band manages to maintain their progressive rock roots while producing strong, effective pop tunes.

The lyrics are interesting and intelligent without being pretentious or eggheaded. World's Apart is the work of a band at the peak of its skill and inspiration, and may be Saga's best album.
